The Freelance Social Media Manager is responsible for creative storytelling and delivering social-first content for Shepherd’s regional clients across their social media channels.

The Social Media Manager role is a well-rounded and dynamic role that involves collaborating with multiple internal and external stakeholders to strategise and develop content for key campaigns through the year, in addition to on-going social media content.

This role reports into the Social Media Lead and is a critical part of the business function involving collaboration across various departments.

Job Responsibilities

  • Aid in delivering on-going content calendars based on business priorities
  • Project management of social-led initiatives in collaboration with regional agencies – the ability to provide detailed briefs and convey feedback in a way that will facilitate the successful implementation of your campaign
  • Delivering efficient support and direction on-ground across campaigns and activations by liaising with various resources and teams.
  • Champion your knowledge of social media – educate internal stakeholders and external partners on social best practices and guidelines with the intent of helping them deliver on their objectives
  • Keep a finger on the pulse – seek opportunities inspired by the latest trends and digital technologies
  • Alignment with internal and external paid media teams on amplification of social assets
  • Copywriting with the ability to tell engaging stories in the brand tone of voice across various social channels
  • Collaborate with in-house design and production teams to ideate, brief and feedback to deliver various forms of creatives (videography, photography and animated assets)
  • Measure, analyse and report social metrics on an on-going basis
  • Deputise for the Social Lead as required

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience with a digital agency, or in-house
  • Demonstrated experience working in social media as a social media manager with a strong background content creation and strategy
  • Experience in project management and working with agencies
  • Fluency in English. Arabic would be a plus.
  • Knowledge of social media publishing and listening tools
  • Basic knowledge of editing on photoshop or illustrator is preferable or a keen eye for design
  • Thrives in a dynamic and fast faced environment

  • Day-to-day contact and key relationship holder across one of our key regional accounts.
  • A senior account lead managing projects and campaigns across all aspects of agency scope, predominately:

    • Data & Analytics
    • Digital
  • Work in close collaboration with the internal and external teams to deliver world class digital campaigns and solutions for our clients.
  • Work closely with client stakeholders and partner agencies to define business requirements and manage delivery of project and campaigns across platforms.
  • Liaise with all internal and external stakeholders working closely to ensure teams are briefed and campaigns are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Identify opportunities within the client’s business to integrate creative ideas with digital delivery.
  • Spot new business opportunities to grow the CRM business organically and beyond.
  • Drive digitally innovative strategic thinking across the account.

The Proof

  • Experience understanding the CRM/digital landscape and tools.
  • Account management experience with multiple projects or clients simultaneously.
  • Sound understanding of digital agency working process as well as clients across a range of categories.
  • Thorough understanding of full project process across briefing through delivery ensuring jobs are managed well financially and are efficiently using resources to meet client needs.
  • Thorough understanding of campaign analysis and reporting as well as developing strategic thought leadership pieces based on results from campaigns.
